Series 17 is GXEdged -- this plug-in series creates simulated brush strokes with distinctive edges and paint-like effects.
This page of preview images shows you the default effects as they are without any tweaking of the sliders. Also, I'm keeping the text narrative to a minimum -- let the pictures speak for themselves.

Figure 1: Color - Starburst generates effects like sketch, splatter, pastel etc.
Figure 2: Edged - Darkforce applies an embossed, dark edge effect.
Figure 3: Edged - Impact applies blur with a noise.
Figure 4: Edged - SourceEdge applies a dark, edgy effect with different color values.
Figure 5: Gradient - Coarse generates a very unnatural look by applying a gradient overlay.
Figure 6: Noise - DarkEdge creates dark edges with an overall, smudgy paint effect.
Figure 7: Paint - Dots generates circles on the underlying image.
Figure 8: Paint - Ringed creates rings on image.
As you can see, most of these effects work best when combined over separate layers with blending modes although you could also use one of these all in itself as well.
